Made a quickie sweet the other day, since I had some boiled
pacha payar (green gram) ready. Kiddoos would love this.
Ingredients:
Green gram (pacha payar) – 50 grams
Jaggery – 25 grams
Coconut (grated) – 20 grams
Cardamom powder - little
Salt – a pinch.
Method:
- Soak the green gram (pacha payar) overnight.
- Pressure cook the green gram until it is soft and mushy.
- In a kadai, add the jaggery and little water. Let the jaggery melt.
- Add a drop of milk to remove the impurities.
- Let the jaggery boil for about 2 minutes.
- Add a pinch of salt, the coconut and the boiled green gram.
- Stir and let the mixture thicken.
- Add cardamom powder and remove from heat.
Serve hot or cold.
